Bringing the Outdoors In

At the heart of the brief was one clear goal: to create a large, open-plan space that seamlessly connects indoors with the outdoors. This was realised through an extended Millboard balcony, an external staircase with a concealed glass balustrade, and a floor-to-ceiling apex glazed unit offering breathtaking views over Trevose Golf Course.

The new layout reshapes how the home flows, turning everyday spaces into elevated experiences. From re-orientated studwork to add a spacious pantry and utility, to thoughtful steelwork engineering connecting old and new structures – every move was made with both form and function in mind.

Interior Craftsmanship Meets Performance

Inside, the home tells a story of refined coastal comfort: think breezy linens, warm oak joinery, and the understated elegance of hidden pocket doors that maintain flow and flexibility. It’s the kind of space that just feels “right” – layered, lived-in, and full of character.

But it’s not just about looks. Behind the scenes, we delivered new M&E systems, renewables, underfloor heating (UFH), and a substantial uplift in the building’s thermal performance – making this home as energy-efficient as it is beautiful.

From the first time we met Adam from Warvena at our property we were very impressed with his organised approach to our building project.

Having not done such a major rebuild before it was quite daunting but we had so much help from Adam and his whole team that it ended up being a great experience for us.

Dan our Site Manager was so easy to work with at all times and he was dedicated to attention to detail.

They were all easy to communicate with and “available”. They never said no to any of our requests and always found a way round to accommodate our ideas, as well as suggesting many ideas to us.

Adam gave us a spreadsheet at the beginning of the job listing all of the details we needed to consider along the journey from Soffits to windows to placements of light switches, and the timescales when each item needed to be considered. As well as gentle reminders when needed.

The house build is amazing and completely changed how we are using our home and enjoying it with the whole family. The change of flow makes the whole property work exactly as we wanted it to. Our Architects worked well with Adam to achieve our dream becoming a reality.

We would recommend Adam and his team for reliability, timescales, attention to detail, experience and ease of communication and enjoyed working together on our house.

Client Feedback: Honest, Grateful, and Collaborative

We asked our clients what stood out during their journey with Warvena:

“We liked Adam when we first met him – younger than most local builders but more personable. He gave us a great sense of what matters in a build. The devil’s in the detail, not just the structure.”

“Our biggest hope was to open up the property and change the flow – and yes, Warvena definitely delivered.”

“Adam was organised, and Dan was a great project manager – we had confidence all the way. We never fell out, so both sides clearly accommodated each other well.”

Built to Last – Especially by the Sea

At Warvena, we understand the demands of coastal construction. The salty sea air accelerates wear on poorly specified materials – that’s why we only use premium, weather-resistant products, ensuring every home looks crisp and performs flawlessly for years to come.

While some may consider us a “more expensive builder,” we don’t compromise. Attention to detail, premium materials, and experienced craftsmanship are non-negotiables when building homes meant to last – especially near the Cornish coast.

Our focus is on fostering strong, long-lasting relationships.
