Built to Passive House Principles
Every element of these contemporary chalets was designed with energy efficiency and sustainability at its core. Influenced by Passive House principles, these buildings incorporate:
- High-performance thermal detailing to improve energy efficiency
- Enhanced airtightness for reduced heat loss and improved comfort
- Timber frame construction – stick-built for precision and adaptability on challenging sites
- Natural material selection for durability and low environmental impact
This approach ensures exceptional thermal performance, low operating costs, and a comfortable interior climate year-round—essential features for high-end holiday accommodation in Cornwall.
Sustainable Materials & Detailing
To reflect the natural surroundings of Gwithian Towans, and ensure long-term durability in a marine climate, we selected a palette of resilient, high-quality materials:
- Cedar Shingle Cladding – providing a natural, weathering façade with minimal maintenance
- Millboard Composite Decking – designed to withstand coastal wear without compromising aesthetics
- Oak Sleeper Retaining Walls – robust, low-maintenance landscape solutions that complement the site’s topography
- Sunken Hot Tubs and custom BBQs – offering guests a seamless blend of relaxation and outdoor living
Every aspect of the design and execution reflects Warvena’s commitment to delivering luxury homes that perform, last, and integrate with their landscape.
Turnkey Delivery by Warvena Construction
This project showcases Warvena’s ability to deliver a comprehensive turnkey service, managing the full build lifecycle—from timber frame design and on-site construction to internal fit-out and landscape coordination.
Working within the operational surroundings of the wider Three Mile Beach resort, our team took great care to minimise disruption and maintain strict timelines, ensuring the shacks were ready ahead of the summer season.
Despite difficult weather and tight access, the project remained on course thanks to careful planning, a dedicated team, and strong collaboration with our design and consultancy partners.
From the first time we met Adam from Warvena at our property we were very impressed with his organised approach to our building project.
Having not done such a major rebuild before it was quite daunting but we had so much help from Adam and his whole team that it ended up being a great experience for us.
Dan our Site Manager was so easy to work with at all times and he was dedicated to attention to detail.
They were all easy to communicate with and “available”. They never said no to any of our requests and always found a way round to accommodate our ideas, as well as suggesting many ideas to us.
Adam gave us a spreadsheet at the beginning of the job listing all of the details we needed to consider along the journey from Soffits to windows to placements of light switches, and the timescales when each item needed to be considered. As well as gentle reminders when needed.
The house build is amazing and completely changed how we are using our home and enjoying it with the whole family. The change of flow makes the whole property work exactly as we wanted it to. Our Architects worked well with Adam to achieve our dream becoming a reality.
We would recommend Adam and his team for reliability, timescales, attention to detail, experience and ease of communication and enjoyed working together on our house.

A New Chapter at Three Mile Beach
These new additions enrich the existing Three Mile Beach resort, already known for its fifteen luxury beach houses, bringing even more charm, function, and style to one of Cornwall’s most iconic coastal destinations.
As the landscaping matures—featuring long grasses, sandy resin paths, and tropical planting—the shacks will settle seamlessly into the dune landscape, offering guests a tranquil escape by the sea.
