Renovation and Extension
passive house
A detached period country house, set in lovely mature gardens we added a single-story extension for extra space and natural light. Extensive repair work has rejuvenated this property to its former glory.
I can’t thank team warvena enough- not only for building my new extension so beautifully but also for fixing my home! They Came up with brilliant ideas beyond any architect did to restore our old house giving it a new life- looking better than I had dreamed possible! In what was a nerve wracking and stressful situation, the team installed all the confidence in me that I needed to make the whole experience enjoyable! As I told them- I was sad it was over as I genuinely loved having them around! Not sure you can say that about many builders! I have never before met a bunch of such honest, reliable, and hard-working men that go above and beyond in everything, providing a professional service that went way beyond my expectations- thank you so much!

About the build
Revitalizing the home, we added a modern cedar-clad single-story extension with a sedum roof which blended in with the mature gardens lovely, complemented by sleek triple-glazed low-profile sliding doors and expansive windows, flooding the property with natural light. During renovations, we uncovered areas of rot, necessitating new joists that doubled as striking feature beams, preserving the property’s charm. Upstairs, a stunning new bathroom was crafted, while a locally handmade kitchen was installed to enhance functionality. Outside, the house received a transformative makeover with durable Cornish Delabole slate, ensuring both a refreshed appearance and weather resistance.
External
We gave the exterior a significant upgrade by cladding portions of the external elevation in Cornish Delabole slate. New pale grey fascia’s and Lindab guttering were installed, completely transforming the appearance of the old house and breathing new life into it.
Joinery
We crafted several bespoke joinery pieces, including a handmade airing cupboard in the main bathroom, creatively utilizing two recycled decorative doors. Additionally, we designed and built a custom decorative storage shelving unit to maximize the use of an alcove.
Country house features
The new extension seamlessly blends modern design elements with the timeless character of the property’s period. To achieve this, we incorporated feature beams to harmonize with the existing structure.
